this was an unbelievable opportunity — to spend the day with two professional (and amazing!) dancers. I met junior and emily while documenting the philippine international salsa congress in 2005. we would then continue to see each other at the texas salsa congress every year after that.
for over a decade these two san francisco natives have been one of salsa's top duos. their unique style keeps them in high demand in latin dance events around the globe. this video chronicles a day in their life as they share their creative process and describe how they plan on taking salsa mainstream.

people used to joke around saying i would probably end up shooting my own wedding. they were right! my wife (then fianceé) and i wanted a very small event with just our immediate family. we flew everyone to las vegas, nevada and trekked to a little town called nelson to have our ceremony. you'll see me in some of the shots and yes, we totally broke all the rules — saw each other before the ceremony, she wore a gold dress instead of at traditional wedding dress, and we didn't tell anyone we were getting married!
